http://www.karmaloop.com/

Karmaloop.com has made some pretty noteworthy changes from the last time i visited the site. Originally I found the site to be far too busy and a little chaotic to enjoy checking out and purchasing there products. The layout/design is a big improvement. Its much more clear and a lot less busy making it easier to read. They fonts they used on there type was never an issue and they kept that consistent, sans-serif type most likely bolded. This website offers a plethura of designer items from shoes and sweaters to watches and hats. The prices may make you cringe on some items but these are designer items. I definitely recommend this site to anyone looking to expand their wardrobe.

http://www.skullcandy.com/

The Website for Skull Candy headphones is very aesthetically pleasing to me, although that may be because im a fan of black. The header, main content and footer are all clear and take up the archetypal amount of space associated with each one. Nice clean fonts are used on the navigation bar. The website really pops because of the colorful links against a black background.

http://www.gamespot.com/

This is a gaming site used for game reviews, strategies, cheats, news, etc. Its very nice layout with clear and concise areas for the header, main content and footer. The main content consists of live updates that have to do with various areas of gaming. The navigation bar easy to read and the typeface used on the buttons is clean and legible. Very successful site.

http://www.deviantart.com/

Devianart.com is an art community site where millions of artists come to post their various works. You can search a specific subject matter and relevant artwork will appear or you can simply searcg in a more general fashion. This site is successful in some areas of web design and weaker in others. The weakest aspect of the site in my opinion is the absence of an obvious header. The main content is beyond dominant on the page, but this is definitely purposeful so that your eye is immediately drawn to the artwork and not the words. This is definitely one of the stronger aspects of the site since it is a site for posting artwork. Not much to say about the type used since most of it is off to the side and made small so as to not distract you from the pictures. The font used on the words devianart itself creates a nice contrast of thick to thin on the letters.

http://www.narutoget.com/

This is a website used to watch all episodes and movies of the anime known as Naruto. It also allows to read the manga as well, the comic adaptations that are usually ahead of the aired episodes. This is a website with a very simple layout that i believe is successful. The main content area is very heavy since its used in order to hold the list of episodes. The header and footer are still easy to point out. The navigation bars are well done with the font chosen and the content of those buttons. The simplicity of the site is broken up with a banner type picture put above the header.

http://espn.go.com/

The ESPN official website is very well done in terms of layout/design and type used. The use of the scoreboard that keeps live updates is a great touch and allows you to stay current with your favorite sports teams when you are unable to see the games yourself. The use of a gradient within the background is also successful as it makes my eye travel from top to bottom, which in turn makes me read more on the site. The site also uses a very clean sans serif typeface that is clear and concise and very easy to read. All in all, it is a very successful website. ESPN.com brings up the controversy of how much belongs in the main content areas. Since it is a sports website, there is going to be large amounts of main content in order to cover the vast area of sports. At the same time, you still get a clear picture of what is the header and what is the footer.
